What is the best AR-15 trigger under $100? Who makes the best AR-15 drop-in triggers?

Let's be honest there are a lot of great options on the market. We don't want to bash our competitors because many of them make a great trigger. But what sets the ICA trigger aside? Simple, it’s the high quality combined with the low cost. Our refined manufacturing enables us to produce excellent triggers at a lower expense so we can pass the savings on to our customers. Our triggers are right at that $100 mark and they truly are worth every penny and have the quality you will find in triggers three times their price. Don't spend more than you need, to get the quality you want.

Is it worth upgrading the AR-15 trigger? What is the benefit of a drop-in trigger?

The pros of upgrading your trigger far outweigh the cons. The stock triggers for the AR-15 have a heavy pull and tremendous amounts of creep, followed by a long reset. Creep consists of two things: One, the length of pull, and Two, how smooth that pull is. Stock triggers have a tendency to stop as you're pulling them, and you then must apply more pressure to keep them moving to the fall-off point, making it very hard to anticipate the trigger breaking point (this is not to be confused with take-up in a two-stage trigger). Reset is the length of movement required to reset the trigger (going back forward) before you fire the next round.

Now flip all those bad things to good, and that's what you get with the ICA trigger upgrade. A smooth, short pull of 3 lbs. instead of the stock 6-8 lbs. Then a short, crisp reset. This enables the shooter to maintain a higher level of accuracy coupled with quick, easy follow-up shots.

Should I get a curved or flat trigger AR-15? What is the benefit of a flat AR trigger?

Let the opinions roll! This is such a gray area it's not even funny. What we have found is that they both work great and it really comes down to personal preference.

As far as benefits to a flat trigger some claim it gives them a more positive trigger placement. Once again the opinions are all there. YOU DECIDE!

How reliable are drop-in triggers? How long do drop-in triggers last?

ICA Triggers are made to last the life of the gun or longer.

ICA triggers are exceptionally reliable. If the trigger is properly installed you should never see a reliability issue. We do however offer a word of advice. A common mistake for many folks installing these triggers is that they do not tighten the set screws in the housing. This puts a bind on your trigger pins and makes the trigger rigid and able to function properly. This is not to be confused with a reliability issue; this is always an installer error. Proper installation, proper functionality.

What stage trigger is best? Are drop-in triggers legal?

Let's start with yes, drop-in triggers are 100% legal. Both single-stage and two-stage triggers are legal. What has been outlawed in some states are binary triggers.

Single-Stage Trigger: Has one pull weight throughout the cycle of the trigger. You pull at three pounds and the trigger releases, then you let the trigger reset, and you can repeat the process. This trigger fires one round per trigger cycle.

Two-Stage Trigger: Has two pull weights. You pull the trigger (take-up) until it stops and then apply more pressure, and the trigger will release. Then you let it reset and repeat. This type of trigger also fires one round per cycle.

Binary Trigger: Typically has one pull weight and will fire once when pulled back, and will fire on the reset stroke. This trigger fires two rounds per cycle of the trigger.

As far as what's best for you, we recommend a single-stage trigger for 95% of shooters. The others have their place, but a single stage is the best all-around trigger. Again, you decide.

What is the most accurate trigger pull weight? What is the best trigger pull weight for an AR-15? How many pounds should a trigger pull be?

There is always debate on this subject as well, but it really depends on what type of shooting you plan on doing. Triggers can range from a few ounces up to 10 lbs and in some cases even more. Typically your heavy pull triggers are what come stock in most guns. The reason? They are cheaper to produce and are normally touted as more reliable. On the other end of the spectrum you have a few ounces up to a pound or two. People shooting with this light of a trigger are most often bench shooters only.

We recommend about 3 to 4 pounds pull weight. This will greatly improve your accuracy over the heavy pullers. And is unlikely to fire when you do not expect it to.

If the trigger is too heavy the shooter has a tendency to pull the gun off target as he/she is trying to pull the trigger. This is obviously far from desirable. A trigger to light can be a danger if being carried for hunting or for any kind of fast moving or competition shooting. As even the slightest bump of the trigger can set off the gun. In some cases it is possible to set the trigger off by simply bumping the gun and not even touching the trigger.

In conclusion ICA has created triggers that fit the needs of 95% of people and 100% of people can afford, without compromising on quality. You will not regret a trigger upgrade it literally feels like a new gun. Keep on shooting.
